He is the author of more than 25 books, the most famous of which are Garner`s Modern English Usage (4th edition 2016) and Reading Law: The Interpretation of Legal Texts (2012 – co-authored with Justice Antonin Scalia), as well as four complete editions of Black`s Law Dictionary. He is a Distinguished Research Professor of Law at Southern Methodist University.
