Lartease Tiffith is Executive Vice President of Public Policy at the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). He leads the ICC`s public policy team, which is responsible for advocating on complex issues on behalf of the IAB`s more than 700 member firms, including consumer protection, data security, global trade, international data transfer rules, and more. Mr. Lartease also leads the IAB`s Public Policy Council, the largest legislative and regulatory advisory group for the marketing and media industries, with leaders from more than 200 companies contributing to solutions to drive consumer benefits and economic growth. He also plays an important role in supporting IAB Tech Labs` efforts to align technical development and industry best practices. Lartease joined IAB from Amazon, where he led the company`s public relations in the areas of advertising, privacy, security, data governance, cross-border traffic and consumer protection. In this role, he advised in-house legal and business partners on global public policy issues to support the development of products, services and internal policies. During his time at Amazon, INSIDER described him as one of the most important players in politics and technology.
Prior to joining Amazon, Lartease served as a senior advisor to U.S. Senator Kamala Harris and an advisor to U.S. Senator Dianne Feinstein. Prior to serving in the Senate, he practiced law with two international law firms (Kirkland & Ellis LLP and O`Melveny & Myers LLP) and the U.S. Department of Justice. Lartease began his legal career as a law clerk to the Honorable Roger L. Gregory, Circuit Judge, on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Michael is responsible for all legal matters, including legal strategy alignment, compliance with data protection regulations, antitrust law, intellectual property rights issues and general corporate matters. Michael is also responsible for advocating on behalf of the digital advertising industry on general legal issues affecting member firms. Michael joined IAB and IAB Tech Lab from Lowenstein Sandler LLP, where he served as Vice President of the Antitrust Practice Group. In this role, he strategically advised clients on competition, sales and governance matters. In the area of litigation, Michael`s cases included representing multi-party antitrust defences. Michael was previously co-chair of the Antitrust Law Committee of the New Jersey State Bar Association. Previously, he also served on the editorial advisory board of Competition Law 360 and the advisory board of the Civil Torts & RICO committee of the antitrust section of the American Bar Association. Michael frequently publishes on a range of legal and policy topics.
Michael holds a bachelor`s degree in history and political science from Rutgers University, a congressman from Georgetown University, and a juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. Bill Magrath is Assistant General Counsel for Privacy at Yahoo, where he focuses on Yahoo`s advertising platforms, Yahoo Mail, and Yahoo`s compliance with state privacy laws. Bill was a software engineer before law school and enjoys using his computer science background in his work as a privacy lawyer. Bill began his legal career as a transaction partner at Gibson Dunn and holds a master`s and bachelor`s degree in computer science from Stanford University and a juris doctorate from the N.Y.U. School of Law. He is widely regarded as one of the top privacy lawyers in the United States and has been regularly recognized by leading legal rating agencies such as Chambers USA, The Legal 500 and Super Lawyers.
Goldberg advises clients on everything from collection and monetization to security and incident prevention. He has particular expertise in advertising technology and technology transactions and often negotiates sophisticated deals for leading agencies, brands and technology providers. M. Goldberg regularly advises clients on GDPR and CCPA compliance and is now actively preparing clients for new U.S. privacy laws coming into effect in 2023, including the CPRA, VCDPA, and CPA.
